Thank you to all who joined us at the 2009 VIP Open House event last month. We had a great showing of Venture customers and owners and were excited to meet each and every one of you. Attendees got a chance to see the entire Venture model line and a sneak peak at the all new 39’ Forward Seating. Hotdogs and Hamburgers were hot off the grill while the kids enjoyed playing in the bounce house and the Venture Merchandise store was giving out great deals! “We had a GREAT time- thanks! Nice to walk through the factory, see the boats being built, and talking with you guys,” said Steve Szoke, Venture 34’ Owner. Thanks again to all who came out and we look forward to planning another one in the future!
This year’s Fort Lauderdale Boat Show was a great success all around. With beautiful South Florida weather and the excitement of the new 39’ and 34' Forward Seating, there was quite a buzz around the docks. This years show lineup included the 39' Forward Seating, 39' Open and 34’ Forward Seating. Many were interested to see how the tradional 39’ Open has transformed into a luxurious, customized, family-friendly boat that is now a truly multi-purpose boat used for a hard day of fishing or a relaxing day of crusing and entertaining. This is the perfect time of year for all who enjoy late night ventures out the inlet to do a little swordfishing. On a recent trip, 34’ Owner Richard Bajakian headed out on a stormy night ignoring the recent negative fishing reports and hoping for the best. After a while of sitting and waiting on his 34’ Venture, Fish Magnet, he wondered if he should have just stayed home. However, just as he thought that the rod started bouncing and he set the hook. “The fish came in slowly but steadily and we didn’t want to rush it,” Bajakian said. There were only two of them on the trip and they did at least a dozen circles with the boat trying to keep the fish out of the props while they brought the line in and readied the harpoon. After getting the fish close to the boat, the fish became stunned and uneasy so they quickly put the flyer into it. It was a good thing too because the fish was so unhappy that it ended up pulling the entire length of rope while they held on for dear life. They finally got it into the boat, did some good damage to it so it would cooperate and then finally got some nice pictures with the 255lb pumpkin. What a great swordfishing trip aboard the 34’ Fish Magnet!
